Flyers are a great way to spread your message in-person. Whether you’re promoting an event, letting customers know about a special or trying to find your lost pet, flyers help. Now, it’s easier than ever to create flyers online so you can promote offline.
The only thing stopping you from posting flyers all over town: knowing how to design one. In this article, you'll learn how to design a flyer with Kapwing so your message gets read. Not to mention, Kapwing’s designer is free and requires no login to start creating. Follow these steps to get started:
- Open a blank canvas
- Add your pictures and copy
- Download the flyer
1. Open a blank canvas
First, open the Kapwing studio and click ‘Start with a blank canvas'. Now, change the input size to model the size paper you’ll be printing on. If you’re using 8.5 x 11 paper, change the width to 850 and the height to 1100. Change the background color using a preset or a custom code.
Kapwing works on every device and you can start creating without an account. If you’re collaborating with someone, click ‘Share’ in the top right to send an invite, it’s free!
2. Add your pictures and copy
Designing a flyer is a simple process. First, click ‘Text’ in the top left and write a headline to grab your reader’s attention. Change the text font and color on the right. Next, click ‘Upload’ to add images from your device, image search or other projects. Center the picture to make it easy to see.
When you’re ready, click ‘Text’ and write down the flyer’s main points. Keep the message simple so it’s easy to read and add a call to action. For example, you could ask the reader to “Call Now” for a special offer. Then, provide contact information so your reader can find your location, send an email, call a number, etc.
Just to recap, here’s the process for your flyer design: create an attention grabbing headline, add a picture as the focal point, outline your main points and make a strong call to action with relevant contact information.
3. Download the flyer
Once you’re satisfied with the design, click ‘Export Image’ in the top right and wait for it to process. When it’s done, download the flyer file and print it from your computer or at a store. For the latter option, store the file in the cloud for easy access.
Finally, you can focus on spreading awareness for your event, special offer or lost pet. When you need to create your next flyer, Kapwing is here so you can quickly get back to doing the important stuff.
