Thank you social media influences for really honing this idea: Adding an image to your photos or videos. Example, make-up tutorials where beauty bloggers showcase what product they are using at certain times during the video.
For me, I like to see what baked goods chefs are using when they're doing cooking tutorials. In this article, I am going to show you how YOU can add images to videos, and enhance the quality of your content!
Here is what you will need to do:
- Use Kapwing's Add Image to Video tool
- Upload your favorite video
- Edit and add a photo onto the video
Step 1. Use Kapwing's Add Image to Video tool
Head over to your Kapwing workspace and go to the tools. Choose the "Add image to Video" tool and get started!
Step 2. Upload your favorite photo(s) or video
Once you are in the tool, upload your photo(s) or video(s) to the tool. You can paste a link from YouTube or Vimeo, (make sure the settings are on public) or drag items into the box. You can also select multiple items at a time.
Now, I am going to add an extra step in this since I uploaded a video I had made on Tik Tok. As you know, every social media platform has their own size dimensions they follow. Tik Tok and IG Story ratio size is 9:16. I want to keep this size but add some extra background room for my soon-to-be added photo. To do this, I add padding to the video. Top, bottom, left, and right, until I am satisfied with my background. You can then move the original video or photo around on top of the padding. Make sure that once you are done, you select your 'output' size. Remember, this is just an EXTRA step I take depending on the platform I am using!
Step 3. Edit and add your photo to the uploaded item
Once your upload is displayed, go to the 'images' on the top bar and add an item you'd like to put on the screen. You can choose a previous project, an emoji, upload your own photo, or add one from an image search!
Now, this is what I consider the fun part. MORE EDITING. Choose from an array of options including adding text, MORE photos, making the video into a music video, subtitles, and more. Like I always say, the world is your editing oyster.
Step 4. Publish!
When you are satisfied with your product, click 'publish' on the top right. Depending on the size and length of the project, this can take a few minutes. Don’t worry though, it’s working! Watch as it renders and transforms into the perfect video! When it’s finished, download, or upload directly onto Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
Thanks for hanging out! Hopefully this article helps, and you can get started adding photos to your videos now.
