Facebook remains the most popular social media network in the world, and YouTube is the primary destination for online video content. But if you post a YouTube URL to Facebook, your friends can’t watch it while they scroll through their timelines! Instead, they have to leave Facebook, load YouTube, and watch the video off of Facebook, causing drop-off and less engagement.

Instead, publishers who want engagement on Facebook need to re-post their video on Facebook. In this article, I'm going to walk you through the steps you'll need to share YouTube videos on Facebook directly by first downloading it with a free online tool called Kapwing. Kapwing works on your computer, phone, or tablet, so you can share all your videos on the go. To share YouTube videos on Facebook, you’ll need to know just four simple steps:

  1. Copy the Video’s Link
  2. Upload the Video to the Kapwing Studio
  3. Publish & Download Your Video
  4. Share the Video on Facebook!

Finding your video on YouTube couldn't be easier – search for the video using YouTube or Google, or follow a link to the video you want to download. On YouTube you can find any video you want, from lyric videos to memes.

Copy the link to the most share-worthy videos on the internet... ours!

Once you’ve arrived at the video you want, just copy its URL! If you’re working on a computer, click on the website’s URL at the top of the page to highlight it, then right-click on the highlighted link and click “Copy.” If you’re using the YouTube app on a phone or tablet, tap the video, hit the “Share” button (it should look like a curved arrow), and then choose “Copy Link.”

Step 2: Upload the Video to Kapwing

Just under this, you'll find an icon that says "Photo/Video." Click on this and find the video you've saved! Facebook will upload the video quickly, and your post will be ready to share! This way, all of your friends and followers will be able to watch the video without leaving their timelines!
