Typically, these videos are between 5–15 seconds in length and are designed to highlight short, meaningful clips.

There’s no one right way to do it, but here are a few popular formats:

- Montages from a recent trip or a day off
- Soft product features, showing your work/life flow
- Life updates framed around real connection or quiet wins

Tips Before You Create Your Video — Trending Audio
Adding trending audio or songs to your video is one of the easiest ways to increase your content’s reach.
In fact, Reels that incorporate trending audio receive an average of 42% more engagement compared to those using original or less popular audio
Fortunately, finding and using these sounds is often as simple as searching for them by name or scrolling through the Inspiration tab on the new Instagram Edits app.

That said, not all audio is accessible across every platform. Sometimes songs like the Almost Forgot This Is Whole Point song are only available in a shortened version, or worse, they might be missing entirely, depending on your region or editing tool.
To get around this, using an online video editor lets you build content for any platform using audio and assets from anywhere online, so your video never lacks the key elements that make trends work.
For example, when editing a trending video in the Kapwing editor, you can add songs like Take My Hand by simply pasting a YouTube link.
To import media using a link during the editing process, open the Media tab in the left-hand sidebar. Then, click the 'Upload Media' button to get started.

Then, paste your link into the URL box to begin importing.

Files added this way will automatically appear in the Media tab, ready to drag into your timeline and use in your video project.
How to Make a Video (Step-by-Step)
For this trend, you’ll want to start with a cinematic video or multiple clips of something simple yet meaningful and fulfilling.
For my example, I’ll be using scenes from an evening bike ride. This, paired with the trending Almost Forgot This Is Whole Point song, will create a peaceful and retrospective video edit that fits the trend perfectly.
@annahmelia sorry one more because it’s SUCH a cute trend !!!

To start, I uploaded my content to the editor. Once uploaded, my media was automatically imported into the Media tab for access.
Since some of these clips are in landscape and others in portrait, we’ll want to resize them so they all share the same aspect ratio. For platforms like TikTok and Instagram, 9:16 portrait is an ideal aspect ratio.
To resize a video, start by adding it to your project. To do so, select it from the Media tab.

Once added to your project, select the background to access the Resize Project tool on the right-hand side.

Then, select an aspect ratio from the Size dropdown. Again, for mobile optimization, select the 9:16 aspect ratio.
To confirm your changes, select the Resize Project button at the bottom of the menu.

Finally, it may be worth cropping your video to ensure important details are in frame. Double-click on the video, then slide the frame to adjust the crop.

As you add new videos to your project, you may need to resize them if they don’t match the project’s aspect ratio. Refer to this guide at any point to resize any content within your project.
1. Assembling in Timeline
The first step in building your Almost Forgot This Is the Point trend video is assembling clips in the project timeline.
Adding a video file — as shown just above — automatically embeds it into your timeline. To arrange your video or audio clips, simply click and drag them.
Click and drag to adjust your clips in the timeline.
While your video can be longer, which may work well for showcasing a destination or subtly marketing an experience, I’m aiming for around 15 seconds to keep it short and aligned with the cadence of the trending audio.

On both desktop and mobile, a handy time indicator shows the current length of your project. This helps ensure your video stays within platform limits and follows general trend expectations.

2. Adding Text
Since this trend is built around simple video clips with a short caption overlay, each visual element matters. Customizing your text is a great way to ensure your video fits your page’s aesthetic. Here’s how to get started.
On both mobile and desktop, begin by opening the Text tab. On mobile, it’s located in the bottom toolbar; on desktop, you’ll find it in the left-hand sidebar.
Then, either choose a preset style or click the Add Text button to add default text. In both cases, you’ll be able to customize fonts, colors, outlines, and more.

After adding text to your video, tap or click on it to edit. Options include switching styles, changing colors, and adjusting advanced details like animations and outlines.
On desktop, text tools are on the right-hand side. On mobile, they’re found in the menu beneath the timeline.

Here are some general characteristics of this trend to consider for adding your text.
- Use soft colors that match your scene.
- Avoid bold fonts — a lighter, more casual look matches the reflective tone of the trend.
- The Dizzy emoji is often used to bookend the caption.
Also worth considering is how your text displays on screen. For example, TikTok and Instagram feature interface icons that can block parts of your content. To avoid this, enable a safe zone.
Enable Safe Zones by selecting the background of your project, then choosing the matching icon for your platform.

Then, adjust your text so none of it overlaps with the grey areas.

Finally, consider adding text animations for extra polish. For example, I used the Fade animation to have my caption disappear just before the video ends, creating a clean transition that lets the final clip stand out. Scroll to the bottom of this article to see the transition in action.
To access text animations and transitions, look for their icons in the editing menu.

3. Exporting and Sharing
After assembling your video and adding a matching caption, exporting is the final step. To do so, select the blue Export Project button in the top-right corner.
Next, configure your export by choosing from the available file types and resolutions. For best results, export as an MP4 file and keep the resolution set to Auto.

Once exported, you can either download the video or share it directly to platforms like TikTok. To download, click the Download button.
To post directly, select the Share button, which will bring up options including TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.
