Announcing the Winners of the Kapwing Creators Fund 2021
Kapwing is proud to announce that we’ve selected 30 winners for our $15,000 Creators Fund. These creators were awarded $500 grants to fuel their creative pursuits and are united in their commendable use of video to share their passions and connect with others.
Kapwing is proud to announce that we’ve selected 30 winners for our $15,000 Creators Fund. These creators were awarded $500 grants to fuel their creative pursuits, which range from comedy skits to mountain biking stunt tutorials and beautiful stop motion art. These creators were selected from a pool of over 400 applicants and come from all over the world, representing Canada, Nigeria, Italy, India, Chile, Australia, the U.S. and more. While they come from all corners of the internet and the world, they are united in their commendable use of video to share their passions and connect with others.
Our history of empowering modern creators goes back to our founding in 2017, when we first launched an online video editing platform that enables people to make and share their stories on the internet. In the process of building a product to make content creation more accessible, we saw the importance of creators supporting themselves financially and decided to turn our extra YouTube revenue stream back around to the creative community. Thus, the Kapwing Creators Fund was born. After a successful first cycle of applications where 24 creators were awarded $200 in 2020, we launched a second cycle and tripled the prize pool to $15,000.
