Kapwing October 2025 Release Notes

Expanded License-Free Music Library

Kapwing partnered with Jamendo to offer more license-free music included in the Stock Media bunde. Kapwing Pro users can browse and add hundreds of commercial-safe tracks to their projects, using the "royalty-free" toggle to filter down in the Audio tab. This long-standing feature request simplifies the time-consuming task of finding stock audio for marketing videos and ads.

When Kapwing users add audio to a video and download a project that uses a Jamendo song, they will also get a license download in the Export menu.

Kit: Kapwing's new support bot

We added a new conversational support bot called "Kit" this month. Rather than corresponding with our team over email, creators can ask Kit questions about Kapwing's tools, subscription, or workspace to get an instant response. Kit provides guidance on workflows and how to achieve a design or editing technique.

Find Kit on Kapwing's Contact Us page or under the "Report a Problem" icon in the Studio.

Layer Virtualization

The Kapwing timeline is one of the most powerful surfaces on the web, supporting hundreds of layers and unlimited layer types. Now, when you have a projects with many small layers, they are "virtualized" in the timeline, making it easier to navigate your project, move layer blocks, and time out other layers again it.

When the timeline is zoomed out, layers of the same type will be merged visually and grouped. To unmerge the layers, zoom in and they will automatically become discrete again.

For long-form video creators, podcasters, and AI dubbing teams, virtualizations makes video playback smoother for complex projects and simplifies timeline management.
